Spirituality

Whether you consider yourself deeply spiritual, openly skeptical, or somewhere in between, exploring spiritual practices can provide powerful tools for psychological growth and emotional well-being. In my practice, I offer focused sessions that help individuals develop meaningful spiritual practices aligned with their beliefs and values.

Many people hesitate to explore spirituality because they associate it with supernatural beliefs or organized religion. However, spiritual practices can be profoundly beneficial even from a secular perspective. Research shows that practices like mindfulness meditation, nature immersion, and contemplative reflection can reduce stress and anxiety, enhance emotional regulation, deepen self-understanding, foster connection with something larger than ourselves, and provide comfort and meaning during difficult times.

Through Therapy in Small Doses, we can work together to:

  • Identify spiritual practices that resonate with your worldview

  • Develop strategies for incorporating these practices into daily life

  • Explore how spiritual growth connects with your psychological development

  • Address specific challenges you’re facing through a spiritual lens

  • Find meaningful ways to cope with loss and life transitions

For more experienced practitioners, please reach out if you find yourself spinning your wheels on your spiritual journey, if ego continues to interfere with the liberation that you seek, if you think you might be engaging in spiritual bypass, or if you're disillusioned with the religion of your upbringing and are unsure how to proceed.

Whether you're seeking to establish new practices or deepen existing ones, Therapy in Small Doses can help you develop a more meaningful relationship with spirituality that supports your psychological wellbeing and personal growth.  However, if you’re experiencing significant distress or blockages, you may benefit from a course of talk therapy or EMDR as a supplement to your spiritual practice.  Contact me to learn more about how we might work together to explore your spiritual path in a way that feels authentic and meaningful to you!
